Athlete’s foot, known medically as tinea pedis, is a common skin infection of the feet caused by harmful microorganism. Dermatophytes which cause tinea pedis is highly contagious and have three varieties known as Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Epidermophyton floccosum and may develop mainly in the presence of moisture, heat and darkness.
The common sign and symptoms include itching, scaling and redness. Fungal infection may infect any part of the foot including between the toes and can spread to the nails.

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain and is a result of an inflammatory overuse injury of the plantar fascia. Plantar warts is a skin infection caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). Warts are very contagious and can spread by skin contact.
